Deep dark brown, near black with a frothy/creamy off-white head and a very soft chocolate aroma. Light bodied with milk chocolate, a touch of roasted malt and a dry bitter finish

Cask at Post Office Vaults, Brum. Certainly has a chocolatey aroma. Opaque darkest brown with a hint of a ruby tint. Thick foamy off-white head. Flava has cacao bitterness alongside a creamy drop. Berry sour edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick if thin..flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. OK.

Pint cask at the White Swan, JDW, Solihull. Poured a clear almost black colour with an everlasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light chocolate. The flavour is light sweet and liqourice bitter, with a roasty, light sweet chocolate, liqourice bitter, light floral yeasty palate. Medium to light bodied with soft carbonation. Given that this is billed as a chocolate stout, one would have expected a little more chocolate sweetness than there was.

Bottle @Luppolo Station (Rome). Bruna, limpida, schiuma bianco/avorio medio-leggera a grana fine. Al naso note di cioccolato, liquirizia, leggero caffè, erbaceo. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con chiusura amara caffettosa. Corpo esile, carbonazione leggera. Anonima.

Bottle from British Local Craft. Chocolate, cocoa and traces of roast malts in the aroma. Pours a deep rich brown with a small cream head and good lacing. In the mouth it has a noticeably creamy texture with some sweetness. Flavour has roasted malts, liquorice, milk chocolate and come hints of coffee. Some bitterness in the finish together with chocolate. A pretty good all round brew.

Many thanks to simontomlinson for this bottle. Fantastic smooth milk chocolate. Moderate bitter, round and soft. Very smooth, dry bitter, a bit dusty but very nice.
