Dark brown color. Wonderful sweet malty nose of toffee, caramel, chocolate and burnt raisins. Full bodied very malty tons of toffee, Chocolate and raisins in there. Dry moorish finish with some raisins and chocolate lingering. Slightly warming. Textbook.

500ml bottle from trade with, i think, Koslchtrinker. Many thanks! Pours clear deep reddish amber, large frothy off-white cream-coloured head. Aroma is pleasant, reassuring nutty caramel. Taste is light on the palette with roch dark treacle, chestnuts, ryebread, caramel sweet. Great balance of flavours, good drinkability. Excellent doppelbock.

Caramel and a little bit of roast. A little too high on the sweet side. Dark amber pour with ok head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Bottle walking around Berlin.

From the bottle. Dark brown with a frothy to creamy head that soon devolves to a whispy layer. Aroma is very malty, full of caramel with mild, dark fruit notes. Taste is sweet, but mildly so. Finishes much the same with a bit of toffee and spice but overall stays quite mild. Dry at the end. Body is to the lighter side of medium, carbonation is soft. Faint wateriness. Decent stuff.

50 cl bottle @ olio, BBE 29.12.2018
Aroma has sweet malty notes, metallic tones, hay, chocolate and rye pudding. Flavour has chocolate, rye pudding, metallic tones and some hops. Cut out the metallic notes and this will be top50 DP.

500ml bottle. Fantastic, clear, dark, ruby colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, notes of malt lozenge, a touch of rock sugar and dark caramel. Taste is sweet dark malty, notes of malt lozenge, hints of rock sugar, dark caramel, some warming alcohol.

Bottle. Dark brown with ruby tinges and medium-sized white head. Aroma of malts and red fruits. Taste of malts, red berries, plums and a little hint of cocoa. Aftertaste shows some fruity acidity, cherries and low hoppy bitterness. Medium carbonation. Balanced and the alcohol is well hidden. It's not bad by any means but as much as I love Doppelbocks I unfortunately can't say that I enjoyed this one.

Small beige head. Deep dark reddish brown body, no visible carbonation. Syrupy caramelly cocos aroma with fruity notes. Sweet fruity syrupy taste with treacle notes. Full-bodied. Sweet fruity grassy aftertaste with caramelly toasted sugar notes. Nice, drinkable, but too sweet and one-sided, and the malt profile isn't that great, either. (0.5l bottle, from wine monopoly, Strømmen.)
