Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is sweet malts with oak, caramel, notes of hops with ripe fruits, toffee, some booze. Flavour is sweet and light bitter with a boozy finish. Full body. Sweet and heavy, warming alcohol, bit sticky with ripe fruits and sweet malt. Not bad.

330ml bottle. Hazy, amber colour with average, firm, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, off-white head. Malty and zesty, citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, some malt spiciness, a touch of floured bread crust, notes of (bitter) orange zest, marmalade, oaky overtones. Taste is bitter, minimally citrusy, zesty, fruity hoppy, sweet-ish and spicy malty with a minimally bready touch fresh, floured grey bread crust, notes of orange, orange zest, marmalade; minimally warming, alcoholic finish with weak, woody, oaky overtones (widely integrated into the bread crust). Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft, creamy carbonation. Surprisingly drinkable, nice spicy maltiness - decent.

Bottle shared with Drebus. Hazy reddish color, small white to off-white head. Smell and taste malts, raisins a bit but not too much, pleasant very pleasant sticky resinous notes, hops, sweetish. Very nice. Old school barley wine. It was time for this. 8 wired comes through once again. Lovely.

Pours deep amber, almost copper with a large off-white head.Nose shows golden syrup, raisins, soft oaky vanilla, brown sugar, dried fruit and soft bready malt.Flavours include more oak, golden syrup, brown sugar, big bready malt notes, soft booze, and then transitions to a lingering assertive bitterness.

Barley wine nagu muiste, meenutab old numbskulli, mis on üks parimaid ameerika stiilis BW-sid. Lõpp on eriti mõnusalt kuiv/tammene/humalane.

Bright clear amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, light and very mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy light malts bring a light creamy sweetness. A nice mildly tangy caramel that moves in to a savoury (but not salted) caramel. Smooth and bright ripe fruits, bright marmalade with a nice touch of darker orange underneath. Whisper of soft brandy. Finishes smooth with a touch of spice. Lovely, so light, well rounded and dangerously drinkable.
