Bottle. Black with a small creamy head that fades away quickly. No lacing. Aroma of espresso and dark chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, espresso, some dark fruits and hints of chocolate and vanilla. Aftertaste shows a tiny amount of hops and sourness. Medium to strong carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. Didn’t have one in years and it’s much better than I remembered. Not very complex but a nice, easy drinking, easily accessible and reasonably priced German something of whatever style this is supposed to be.

Bottle from biershop.com. Pours very dark mahogany brown with a lasting creamy beige head. Aroma of malt, chocolate, molasses, dark fruits, light coffee, prunes. Fairly heavy sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium/full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Finish is a touch roasted with some fruit, coffee and boiled cabbage. A decent brew.
