A deep black and creamy beer specialty. Stark-Bier is a natural dark strong beer with a creamy mouthfeel and a strong interplay of bitter chocolate and coffee. 16.9º original wort.

Brown color with beige head. Aroma is sweet chocolate, malty, quite sweet. Hints of sourness. Okay, but not very convincing.

0,5 l bottle from a local grocery store, best before 23/10/2016. Clear, dark brownish red to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Intense aroma of dark chocolate and coffee as well as dark ripe fruits like plums, cherries and blackcurrant. Sweetish taste with lots of roasted coffee beans and dark chocolate as well as blackcurrant, plums and dark cherries. Short, coffeish and slightly bitter finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Pleasant and tasty beer, lacking a bit of body and power. Still good.

Dark brown color. Molasses, dark fruit, cherries, chocolate and a touch of caramel in the nose. Rich malty mouth with milk chocolate raisins and dark fruit. Full bodied. Chocolate and toffee dominate the finish.

500ml bottle, thanks to McTapps! Pours a deep dark brown with decent off-white head. Smokey aroma. Nice rich, complex taste with bucketloads of roasted malts, chocolate malts, rich dark fruits, treacle and a great smokiness wafting in and out. Nice warming beer this.

(bottle) Black coloured hue with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Aroma of mocha, marzipan, slightly milky chocolate combined with roasty and delicately burnt malty notes. Moderately sweet and slightly roasty bitter flavour, full bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately toasted malty taste with notes of bread crusts, milk chocolate, lighter Latte Macchiato flavours, as well as liquorice spice; sweet-bitter and moderately roasty finish with the framework of flavours in the aftertaste whereas the alcohol is quite well-hidden. They are pretty good at brewing dark and strong beers, not to forget the highly aromatic and sessionable Atlantic Ale. 25.IV.14
