Kru, not to be confused with (Colruyt) Cru beer - Brown colored, not like most tripels, malty/caramel/alcohol/sweet taste - light bitter aftertaste. Nice beer, but in my opinion not a tripel

The tripel in this new ‘KRU’ series, brewed in Deinze by Mathias Vanoverschelde, who also works at BeerSelect in Ghent and operates his own ‘t Atelier as well – thanks for sharing this one Mathias! Egg-white, plastery lacing, mousy, opening head over a hazy deep peach blonde robe. Aroma of old wrinkled apples, coriander seed, banana peel, old bread crust, gin, freshly cut grass, old potato soup, pear, sweat. Fruity onset, banana peel, peach, pear, lively carbonation but not over the top, smooth and full body; cereally, white-bready maltiness supporting a floral hop bitterish touch in the finish, along with a dash of spicy coriander and clear, warming ‘jenever’-ish alcohol. Retronasally, a sour-sweaty effect lingers a bit, downgrading the drinking experience a bit for me. Decent enough, in all, but the blonde is more successful in its particular segment.

20/VI/20 - 33cl bottle @ DOK Brewing Company (Ghent), BB: n/a (2020-541) Thanks to Matthias for sharing the bottle!
Clear blond to orange beer, small creamy off-white head, stable, bit adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: sweet, malty, caramel, ripe banana, sugary, overripe banana. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, some burned plastic, chemical, unpleasant. Aftertaste: bit sweet, lots of ripe banana, bit sourish, fruity touch, meh, coriander notes, some autolyse?
