Witbier spiced with dried orange peel, coriander seed and pink pepper, developed by a hobby brewer in Beernem (and a tribute to his grandmother apparently); commercial batches brewed by Vliegende Paard, for now at least. Thanks to tderoeck. Egg-white, thick and dense, large-bubbled yet stable head on an initially clear, deep yellow-glowing golden beer, turning a deeper misty apricot blonde with sediment. Aroma of dried out lemon zest, dried basil, white bread, banana peel, raw potato, unripe peach, paprika powder (the pink pepper I guess), coriander seed. Sweetish and sourish, spritzy onset with banana, peach and green pear fruitiness, but the actual flavour is marred a bit by very sharply stinging overcarbonation even for this style; soft white-bready malt body with a very vague metallic edge to it, flavoured with a mild floral hop touch and – much more so – coriander seed, dried citrus peel (though not so much that it is recognizable as orange) and the pink pepper, which actually overpowers the rest in a dried basil-like way. Spicy wheat blonde rather than a traditional witbier, a bit distinct indeed and certainly not unpleasant, but drinkability here – an important aspect of witbier and its relatives – is hampered a bit by that sharp overcarbonation.

SLOW GUSHER ALERT
Cloudy pale beige to yellowish beer, huge fizzy to creamy off-white head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sourish, bit metallic, quite some oregano, soapy, very floral, other spices, weird and fruity. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, very yeasty, ripe banana, spicy, oregano, metallic. Aftertaste: yeast, spicy, little peppery, dry, soft bitterness, some coriander.
