Finally: of the 3 cadolzburgers bought the first one without off flavours or odours. They lost me however already at "Irish Stout: Ein weiteres Beispiel englischer Bierkultur". Typical misinformed German drivel parading as knowledge. Nice aromas of berries, cherries, coffee. Nice malty hit up front, dry, coffee notes obscuring some hints of fruit. Nice lingering malty bitterness. Drinkable. Too high carbonation and not enough body to be a stout for me. More like a dark lager. Points for the nose.

Fläschla (0.0075hl): Unclear, chestnut-amber coloured, big and slowly collapsing off-white head; toasted malt, grains and red berries in the nose, some caramelly spots as well, shy bitterness; moderate bitter-sweet flavour with a modest acidity, pretty light bodied, not soft; toasted malt - again - and sweet-sour raspberries (!) In the finish, some bitterness in the aftertaste. Oh no! Not according to the style! Pity about the money...
