Wie es unsere Ur-Väter schon getrunken haben! Unser Holzar ist ein dunkles Export das neben einer abgerundeten Bittere durch die angenehmen Röstaromen der verwendeten dunklen Malze besticht.

I had this from a swing top bottle purchased from a Munich grocery. Surprisingly dark brown color for the style. Malt, and some salt also, with a finish of grain. OK, but forgettable.

500ml swing-top bottle, kindly shared by Jan Erik@Rating Session 22.03.12. Brown body and big creamy head, whiff of prunes, brown sugar and maple syrup. The taste is primarily like the aroma, but stronger and there is notes of cardamom to. Kitschy label!

50 cl bottle @home, BBE 16.04.2013. Thanks oh6gdx!
Quite unusual colour for a kellerbier; looks like a Dunkel. Aroma has grain, some roasted notes and hints of hay. Flavour is slightly tart with some nuts, roasted notes, grain and hints of coffee. A ’dunkel kellerbier’ if such genre would exist.

Purchased this at a Orterer Getrenmarkt in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria, Germany 30.05.12 consumed at friends Lyn & Barrys when invited to watch Italy v England match Sunday 24.06.12 Very clear with slight white head. This is chewy with a lot of toffee. Steely with a good fruitiness, tangy, flavoursome beer. Tasty with a light bitterness, really nice. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.5
