Adlerkönig Urtyp Hell ist einem besonderen Volkshelden aus den Allgäuer Alpen gewidmet. Leo Dorn war als Leibjäger seiner Königlichen Hoheit Prinzregent Luitpold tätig und wurde für seine Dienste zum Adlerkönig ernannt. Ihm zu Ehren hat die Privatbrauerei Höss ein Helles mit harmonisch abgestimmten Aromen gebraut. Vollmundig, kräftig, würzig und angenehm süß im Geschmack.

Bottled (late Feb Tasting with MT & KS). Golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is maize, some grains, bready malts and mild grassy notes. Flavour is sweetish maize and malts along with some grassy and herbal hops. Refreshing, but rather thin as for the palate.

Thanks Riba! 0.5l Slightly hazy golden body, small white head. Nice sweetish honey malty aroma. Vague cardboard. Light dry honey taste. Slightly dusty, vague cardboard. Sweetish. Meh. Had worse. Had better.

500 mml bottle tasted on the 08/08/2016. Golden colour with a minimal white head. Aroma of grains, and sweet malts. Taste is basically grains and malts with some citrus aftertaste. Medium to high carbonation. Next one please!

Not wonderful. Mash sour malt and lots of junk. Best part of this is I drank it while losing the gate for my flight in Frankfurt airport. Great to wander around an airport at 11 am with a bottle of beer. Props. Bottle from the Germany souvenir store.

Al naso arriva l’orzo e poi il luppolo. L’intensità olfattiva è elevata e la persistenza olfattiva è discreta. La schiuma a bollicine medie presto sparisce. La frizzantezza si esprime con bollicine medie a carbonazione bassa ma insistita. Il liquido è limpido. Il colore è lievemente ambrato con riflessi di ebano chiaro. Il corpo è medio. Alla lingua il dolce medio si equilibra con l’amaro medio, a cui si aggiunge una velatura di umami. L’intensità gustativa è normale e la persistenza gustativa è sufficiente. Il finale è amaro, più che amarognolo. La bocca riconosce malto, caramello e cereali. Questa è una birra che risalta, in quanto fuori dai canoni e con un gusto inaspettato.

Ein Bier, das sich den Titel Urtyp gibt, aber eigentlich ein einfaches Helles ist. Keine besondere BItternote, aber durchaus botige Noten. Kann man trinken, aber nichts, das man unbedingt trinken muss.
