Soft barley on the nose, has weak watery brown body with little foam. Flavour is boring deep barley and nothing else. Mouthfeel is watery though there's modest carbonation. This is surprisingly tepid.

Dark brown. Light fudgey, slightly nutty aroma...already smells like they don't have enough sugars. Soft and sweet, with a light nutty note. More sugars on the palate, just a touch of alcohol, barely enough hop. Ok, malts, decent complexity. This beer would be better if it was a bit bigger.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out bready malt, English malt, light roast. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, bready notes, and a very English caramely character. Nicely made, with a pronouncedly English malt character. Good stuff.
