A fresh modern take on an English bitter. George is an easy-drinking and light bronze in colour. We use the finest UK pale and crystal malts and a blend of hops including Fuggles and Cascade. Dandelion and burdock root add their unmistakeable sweet, earthy flavours. Molasses add a touch of further richness to the flavour without compromising the dry, thirst-quenching finish.

[Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell.] A pale amber pour with a tight white head; floral and fruity aroma; taste of orchard fruit and red berries with lots of pear and a little strawberry; then sweet and biscuity with a dry finish. Unusual.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Poured a slightly hazy light amber colour, with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light citrus, herbal, light floral hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a fresh, crisp, mineral, earthy, dry floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nicely balanced. Plenty going on, with lots of subtle flavours and aromas. Nothing is in your face. A great session ale.
