First time our 400 Volt sees bourbon barrels. Technically it’s not bourbon since Early Times whiskey, as it is marketed in the US, is aged for 3 years on used barrels. Bourbon must be aged from start on brand new oak barrels. Oh well, enjoy it anyway!

Ruikt als een prima aardeachtige stout met fraaie whisky barrels. Smaakt ook zo. Gelukkig geen salmiak of sojasaus, wel koffie en pure chocolade. Een tikkeltje dun maar de smaak blijft wel lang hangen. Fraaie barrel-aging.

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of sweet bourbon vanilla, caramel fudge, chocolate, red fruit, oak and caramelised malt. Taste has fruity bourbon vanilla, caramel fudge, milk chocolate, oak, booze, cherry, caramelised malt, coconut and a long bourbony finish. Delicious, love this combination of bourbon vanilla and sweet cherry notes.

Geprobeerd met LiekevdV bij Stadsbrouwerij Eindhoven. Het is een diep donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een beige schuim. Het heeft een lekkere whisky achtige en drop achtige geur. De smaak is whisky achtig en houtig met een zoete dropachtige nasmaak.
