It’s no secret that Nelson Sauvin is our favourite hop. No secret at all. To this end…here is the most "Nelsony" beer we’ve ever attempted. We’ve added Nelson on top of Nelson, squeezed a bit more Nelson in, and then finished it off with some Nelson. Super smooth. Super light. Super Nelson.

Can. Hazy yellowish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light malts provide a smooth and reasonably sweet base on which the Nelson hops sit well. This is as about as good as NS gets these days. That obvious and astonishing grapey winey intensity of yore is replaced with a light floral grape run through and with a light and fairly bright citrus and a little soft skunk. Light semi dry finish. Good job by Verdant, as good as can be expected with modern NS.

Can. Hazy yellow golden body with a foamy white head that fades rather quickly. Strong juicy aroma with tropical fruits and some pine. Taste is sweet, and besides the tropical juice there is sweet malt and hint of honey, practically no bitterness. Fine body and same aftertaste as the rest. Decent with lots of fruit, but feels a bit sweet and one-dimensional like so many other beers within this style.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from The Experiment. Pours murky gold with a creamy, white head. Rather sweet with a lot of bright tropical fruits, a little pissy hop, minimal bitterness, some melon, ripening tangerine, pale bread. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more sweet and lightly gooey tropical fruits, nips of oats and pale bread. Really vibrant hop character. Just a little too sweet and not bitter enough. But overall, excellent.

440ml can. Intensely hoppy, sweet tropical fruity, piney and resinous with some vinous grapes, citrus, grass, herbal notes, apricot and hints of dankness. Quite nice and intense hop bomb, perhaps a bit too sweet and heavy though.
