Plum Jerkum is not a Cider, but an ancient alcoholic beverage crafted from stone fruit. Originating in Cotswold county of Worcestershire, England, where unique and strange traditional foods and drinks like Worcestershire sauce, potted lamperns and Plum Jerkum are crafted!

Plum Jerkum is made like cider, except stone fruit is "jerked" and the extracted juice is "chucked" into a vessel and allowed to ferment. The tart, sweetness balanced profile of this Jerkum is immediately noticeable on the first sip, with a rich fruit aroma, beautiful colour and low residual sugar that creates a long, tart finish.

Poured from 500mL bottle at my 39th bday (purchased in Powell River). Clearish light amber with minimal white head. Quite plummy with a soft tart acidity, unique, interesting, has some complexity.

500ml (thx, Liam!) @ Ryan's on his 39th celebration.
Aroma: nice fermented stone fruits.
Taste: along the same lines, pretty dry, tastes like unripe apricots.
Overall: ok.

Bottle pour. Pours clear pale gold with no head. Lots of fermented plums and some acetic acid on the nose. Flavour has sour plums, plums skins, gentle acidity. Pretty interesting, I'm a fan.

Bottle sample at the source. Clear light pinkish purple color, still. Aroma of dusty overripe plum. Taste is tart and earthy plum skin. Tasty and unique.

Medium gold, maybe a bit of a plum shade. It’s quite tart, with juicy plum and a fairly full body. Bright fruit, and a lingering acidic finish…interesting beverage. Bought @ Ravens Moon.

Bottle found in Kelowna many weeks ago. Really nice pinkish copper body but no foam, heavy yeasty plums on the nose with hints of hay. Flavour is strong sweet plums, proper acidity, yeast and burlap. Full mouthfeel, smooth and very sweet. Very nice, like a yeasty fruit wine, very well executed.
