Our second beer is this Jornal. The intention is to introduce an old English style that is not yet common in our house, the Mild. Our Mild Black incorporates, to the softness and simplicity of the Mild, toasted malts, which give it character and a certain degree of complexity providing roasted flavors and aromas, provided mainly by Brown malt. This gives it the predominant aromas, which are coffee, and also the same taste of coffee, complete with notes of chocolate from the malt Chocolate.

12oz pour at La Resistencia in Barcelona. Pours a murky caramel amber with some thin white head. The smaller parts of the nose are bread crust, cinnamon and caramel but the predominant aroma is Folgers coffee grounds. Mild, approachable coffee. Flavor has a similar balance, coffee grounds, brown sugar, dark bread crust, malt, some bread crumb too. Clean, mild coffee finish. Good take on a mild.
