Bottle Golden, plentiful carbonation Straw malt nose Medium light sparkly body Light grainy malt base, grassy hops to balance, light footed. Not much going on - Follows the scheme for a Aussie pale lager perfectly I would say.

(Bottle) Clear yellowy straw with very short lived head. Aroma has notes of cardboard, grass and toffee. Thin and fizzy. Taste is pretty unpleasant, starts with a rather metallic tartness and moves to wet cardboard and corn, which fades away leaving quite an unpleasant aftertaste. Overall it is quite impressive that these days with so many good beers appearing that a brewery would set out to make something so bad.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/8/2012. Pours a very light straw with a biggish bright white head. Has a very slight grassy, grainy aroma. Flavour wise, it’s truly horrible - stale vegetable and cardboard come to mind. Got this with some fancy, detailed advertising blurb about the brewers looking to brew the perfect lager, and needing help to work out whether it’s brew 51 or brew 34. It is certainly not brew 51, which gives me a new found respect for VB, which is positively flavour filled in comparison. About to try brew 34...
