Hello world, it’s Cherry Bomb imperial porter, a complex, decadent desert beer, spiked with sour cherries and cacao nibs. The finished beer has a rich ebony hue with a pronounced, bitter-sweet, dark chocolate and ripe tart cherry character.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark brown with a transient tan head. Aroma of slightly sour cherry and earthy dark chocolate. Med body or so. Flavor is dark chocolate and cherry, but the sour seems to have gone awol. There is a cherry intensity, but I can't call it sour. Good stuff, but I think it needs a bit more body. But that's just me.

Flagon from the cellar door. The tartness of the cherries plays so well with the bitter chocolate. The flavours are subtle, but just enough to notice

Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Solid black pour with dense very fluffy head. Nice. Aroma is not as big as I expected, but good, sharp boozy and tart sweet cherry, quite pronounced actually. Taste follows but more bitterness, less cherry, though the tartness is still there. Boozy warmth on the finish, with some good sourness from cherries. Palate is a bit light but it works.

Tap at Bitter Phew. Black, tan lace. Earthy, wooden, tangy aroma. Medium dry yet chewy body, mellow mouthfeel. Roast, light wood, barn notes, berries peek through, slightly tart, vanilla/oak finish. Subtle, dangerously drinkable.
