Aroma of malt, caramel, fruity hops, some tropical fruits, liquorice, hint of coffee. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a moderate bitter finish. A bit on the sweet side, but otherwise very fine BIPA.

75 cl bottle @ home. Black color. Big, dense but uneven beige head with good retention. Aroma’s: sweet, caramel (slightly butter?), light drop/licorice, roast. Retronasal there’s more drop, laurel/bay leaves, less sweetness, a bit zwartwit. Flavor is light sweet, roasted, light bitter, drop. Medium bodied. Finish is roasted, drop, light ash, moderate bitter. Pretty solid BIPA.

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 26 Aug 2015) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Roasted, malty, hoppy nose with notes of coffee, pine needles, resin, chocolate and a touch of grapefruit. Malty, roasted, hoppy taste with coffee, chocolate, grapefruit, pine needles, resin and an impressive bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Almost full body, with a touch of sweetness. Really well made and quite an excellent black IPA. Lovely beer.

Bottle at WWT. Black with big fluffy light beige head. Grapefruit, orange, cocoa, plums, marzipan, old coffee. Medium sweet with medium bitter finish. Quite nice.

75cl bottle from me shared at WWT IV. thin creamy tan head. Lovely hoppy aroma. Clear black pour. Lovely hoppy bitterness. Very nice.

Bottle at tasting. Black pour, white head. Aroma is quite hoppy, with peach, passion fruit and cacao. Taste is bitter and creamy, with dark cacao and some passion fruit. Bit too malty, but generally nice.

fles 75cl @Melchers te Haarlem, schenkt zwart met schuimige bruine kraag. Aroma van mout, chocolade, hoppig/den. Smaken zijn matig/redelijk zoet, matig/redelijk bitter, matig qua sterkte, matig gemout, aangename smaken zonder echte of overdreven boventonen, hop/den zijn aanwezig maar allemaal in een goede balans. medium body, dun en glad, had van mij wel iets voller gemogen.. maar lekker

Draught @ Fermentoren, Århus. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light chocolate, fresh fruity hops, citrus, grapefruit, pine, light cats piss. Flavor is light sweet, malty, chocolate, coffee, citrus, grapefruit, pine. Medium body, average carbonation, well hidden alcohol for the ABV. 040315
