Rough Draughts: Rye Stout. As March comes in like a lion, thoughts turn to greener things, the budding of Spring and St. Patricks Day celebrations. Cellarman/Centrifuge Specialist, John, took to the R&D Brewhouse to create a beer that was perfect for this seasonal transition. His Rye Stout starts with rich chocolate notes and hints of peppery spice from the rye malt. Flavors of hazelnut and toffee are backed with a pleasing bitterness from East Kent Golding hops. This beer is great for sipping on as the days (hopefully) get warmer and thoughts turn to what green items you have in the closet.

Tap at Union. Black, creamy brown head. Dry roast, mellow light, a hint oxidation, a bit burnt paper, a bit chocolate, mellow dry choc finish, slightly watery.
