Lacto Milk Stout is a beer crafted according to the original recipe of 1946. Lacto Milk Stout is a light-bodied, sweet, classic milk stout, creamy and smooth, with rich flavours suggesting dark chocolate and currants notes.
Frequently also used as a cooking ingredient, Lacto Milk Stout has been a trusted household name for over 60 years. The beer’s unique characteristics make Lacto Milk Stout the perfect match to accompany rich, spicy food like BBQ beef as well as the perfect marinade for stews, chicken and red meats. Due to the beer’s creamy and smooth finish, it is also recommended to enjoy Lacto Milk Stout to complement desserts such as chocolate cake and profiteroles. Lacto Milk Stout is traditionally used as an ingredient in Christmas puddings.

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable tan head. Clear but weak aroma of coffee, malt and grain, with subtle touches of yeast. Sweetish flavour of malt and yeast, with touches of coffee and milky notes. Faint, bitter notes of hops. Rather rough and dusty aftertaste, with sourish, milky hints. My first Maltese stout. Better than expected but nothing special as such.

Sampled @ home shared with Martinus. Opaque pitch black color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, sweet malts, slightly some bitterness, some caramel. Could be worse.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a small light brown head that dissipates with some lacing. Aroma is roasted malts, lactose, chocolate. Flavor is about the same, light to medium sweet, not much bitterness. Bit of a chemical aftertaste. Fullish bodied and creamy in the mouth. Not bad, but not much complexity here.

Why advertise the fact that you added fake colour? Foreign concept to me, but then I’ve never been to Malta. So indeed the colour is black with some caramel around edges. Pours basically flat with no head. There’s some lactose here. A little sour on aftertaste. Palate pretty empty. Bottle from Champane’s.

Bottle from a kiosk in Rabat, Malta. Pours very dark brown, almost black, with a brown head. Lightly roasted malt aroma with fruits and hints of sour milk. Sweet and mildly roasty with hints of bitterness in the finish. Ok, and easy to drink. Far from the worst beer from Malta. (2012-09-24)

Bottle. Sour chocolate malt aroma. Black brown with a small tan head. Sour lactic, chocolate, and slightly charred toast flavor with a light seaweedy aftertaste. Thin flat mouth feel.

Bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of dried grains, powdered milk and toasted chocolate malt. Light body. More like a dark lager than a stout.
