Lacto Milk Stout is a beer crafted according to the original recipe of 1946. Lacto Milk Stout is a light-bodied, sweet, classic milk stout, creamy and smooth, with rich flavours suggesting dark chocolate and currants notes.

Frequently also used as a cooking ingredient, Lacto Milk Stout has been a trusted household name for over 60 years. The beer’s unique characteristics make Lacto Milk Stout the perfect match to accompany rich, spicy food like BBQ beef as well as the perfect marinade for stews, chicken and red meats. Due to the beer’s creamy and smooth finish, it is also recommended to enjoy Lacto Milk Stout to complement desserts such as chocolate cake and profiteroles. Lacto Milk Stout is traditionally used as an ingredient in Christmas puddings.

Blanchard’s, Allston 11.2oz ($3): Pours a darkish color with a quickly dissipating beige head. Aroma of sugar and stuff like that. Taste is a little on the thin side and so is the body. Mildly sweet and buttery. Not a horrible beer, but it is its own kind of thing and is worth trying.

Milk stout with caramel added. Opaque very dark brown beer. Surprisingly flavoursome - light lactose sweetness over some unsubtle caramel malt. Just a trace of roasty malt flavour. Semi dry finish with more lactose sweetness. Okay - a bit clunky!

Bottled@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Quite much black colour, small brown head. Aroma is raisins, some mild butteryness, mild roasted notes as well. Flavour is quite lactic, mild wooden and toasted along with some slight dark fruits.

(Bottle at One Pint Pub Italian weeks ’10) The beer poured black with quite ok looking head. Aroma was really metallic and bit papery. Like drinking sniffing a canned beer straight from the can. The flavours were malts, carboard, sweetness and again metallicness. Aftertaste was sweet. Not good. The beer may have been better when it was fresher.

Bottle. An attractive pour: Dark brown, caramel highlights, with a brown head. Very faint aroma of roasted malt. Flavor is thin, some light coffee. Body is light to medium, fizzy. Very little action in the finish, almost no aftertaste. Just lackluster on pretty much all fronts.

pours dark brown, mahogany head. aroma of sweet caramel, grainy, light soy like aroma. flavor, little watery, sweet caramel malts followed by some hop bitetrness, caramel finish with a touch of lactose and dark fruits. Low carbonation. Something about the finish that I just could not get into, like some rancid/moldy lactose flavor that made the finish a little off.

Bottle, thx to larsga. It’s a dark, dark brown beer with a nice dark beige head. Sweetish, caramel notes with some roasted malts. Sweet, caramel flavor, roasted, almost sugary, with some roasted bitterness. Medium body. Sweet in the finish. A quite tasteful beer, but far too sweet. (090605)
