Lacto Milk Stout is a beer crafted according to the original recipe of 1946. Lacto Milk Stout is a light-bodied, sweet, classic milk stout, creamy and smooth, with rich flavours suggesting dark chocolate and currants notes.

Frequently also used as a cooking ingredient, Lacto Milk Stout has been a trusted household name for over 60 years. The beer’s unique characteristics make Lacto Milk Stout the perfect match to accompany rich, spicy food like BBQ beef as well as the perfect marinade for stews, chicken and red meats. Due to the beer’s creamy and smooth finish, it is also recommended to enjoy Lacto Milk Stout to complement desserts such as chocolate cake and profiteroles. Lacto Milk Stout is traditionally used as an ingredient in Christmas puddings.

At a tasting, thanks DSG. Thick small brown reddish head which quickly dissapears, impregnable deep brown colour with some reddish taints, aroma of dates, figs, sour bread abd a whiff of a mature camambert. very light rosted coffee flavours with a little light bitterness, light body and a watery texture, almost no aftertaste, some faint bitter and sourness which fade quite quickly.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks mom for bringing this from Malta! Black with a medium brown head. Aroma of milk-chocolate, some coffee, roast, light creamy notes and a bit of dark fruits. Sweet flavor with some fruits, chocolate, light acidic notes and a bit of yeast. Light to medium-bodied. Too thin. Aroma is promising but the flavor doesn’t deliver.

Medium dark brown coarseish head. Opaque black body. Papery resiny aroma, basically Farson house character. Dryish-sweetish papery resiny watery taste with earthy metal notes. Mid-to-thin body. Smoothish mouthfeel. Dry chocolatey licorice aftertaste. Bland, unconvincing. (0.33l bottle, Pavi Supermarket, Qormi, Malta.)

12 ounce bottle from Vintage Cellar. Pours a very dark reddish black with a medium tan head. Aroma is sweet malts and raisin with a rotten vegetable note and which initially had an odd bologna like meaty note that fortunately dissipated. Taste is very thin with roasted malts, light dark fruits and a metallic note. Thin bodied. This one is not so hot.

Really not so bad. Fairly mild, lightly roasted malt, some oatmeal. Just a little lactose flavor, not so much that it ruins the beer. Black, and a surprisingly thick consistency.

I loved this stuff! Bottle marked 3.8%. Pours pretty thick, with a rocky, light brown head covering a deep mahogonay body. Pretty good lacing left by the head. Aroma of milk, malt, skunk, grass, bread, and caramel. taste is smooth and really a lot like a thick milk or whipping cream taste at the finish. A bit dry on the mouth throughout, but nice levels of carbonation. Lots of flavor for such a low ABV, a great little beer that is vastly underated.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a fluffy brown head and aromas of cola, chocolate and milk. Flavor is a ho-hum mix of the aforementioned. I can’t get over the cola-like taste here... Maybe it’s time for bed or maybe it’s actually there. Either way... strange.

Bottle. Poured deep black with thin lasting tan head. Aroma of flat milk.. Flavour of flat milk and ash, very little malt. Thin unsatisfying ashey finish. Not a stout I’d care to repeat.
