500ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with huge, creamy, fully lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately aroma with a grainy touch, cookies, some grassy hop and hay. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, some sugar, a fresh sourish touch, dry, minimally grassy hoppy finish.

On tap @ the Stockbridge Tap. Pours a lovely creamy opaque black with a creamy head but there’s a certain weightiness with this as you swirl it round the glass. The nose is chocolate as expected but with a real fruity thing too - probably oranges or raisins. The fruit n nut bar thing continues on the taste and the palate is very well balanced indeed - I can’t believe it’s only 4 or 5%. Overall, great beer.

Looks much as you’d expect from a stout and it has a light malty scent. It’s sweeter than I expected but it isn’t sickly for it.

(Cask at Holborn Whippet, Holborn, London, 20 Nov 2012) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with milky chocolate, moccha and cacao. Malty, roasted taste with lots of chocolate and cacao, notes of coffee (with milk) and a fairly sweet finish with a light bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Very nice beer with a tasty chocolate character.
