Like anything in life, to create something of rare quality you need the finest quality ingredients, and this philosophy not only applies to our beers, it extends to our farm animals too. Our herd of Longhorn cattle that reside on the farm at Purity are a beautiful thoroughbred herd. These heritage beasts with their magnificent horns, the best-balanced character graze on the luscious green grass of our Warwickshire farm and feed on our finest spent grain Just like our cattle Longhorn IPA is full of character taking only the best characteristics of American and English Pale ales, combined with enticing hop aromas, sweet rye malt backbone and decisive bitterness that all balance together to produce a beer that is bred to perfection.

On tap at Pure Bar & Kitchen, pours a hazy bronze with a small white head. Nose is very fruity, with lots of pine and citrus hops. Flavour is very similar, though not the most potent - with notes of piney and floral hops, a little fruitiness, and a dry biscuity malt backing. Not quite the full punch of an American IPA. Decent.

On keg at The Garabaldi, Northampton, Saturday 7th June 2014 with Bob & Bill Light gold with a small white head. Soft carbobation, feels soft in mouth. There is a good buzzy bitterness to this but the malt and hops combine well. Refreshing beer but it has a good body and depth of flavour. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov16 3.6

Appearance : Clear golden color. Medium white head.
Taste : Medium sweet, medium bitter, fruity, orange, marmelade.
Palate : Medium body. Long, very bitter finish.

Keg @ Pure Bar & Kitchen, Birmingham. Amber/copper, massive lacing. Tropical fruit, muesli and honey aroma. Taste is sweetish and woody, rounding to a satisfyingly bitter finish with fruit essence at the fore. Weak mouthfeel. Good but I was expecting something a bit more interesting.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol, October 213. Golden with a slight white head. Pineapple and grapefruits, a touch of creamy malts, leading to a dryish finish with a hint of pine. Enjoyable.

First rating - 30/10/2013. Cask at the Square Bottle (JDW), Chester. RB score 7/3/8/4/16 (3.8) Light amber with a moderate white head. Lots of pine, grapefruit and lemon with sweet mango behind, before an assertive bitterness in the finish. Purity generally seem to make decent beers, and this is a cracking US-style pale ale that I enjoyed even more the more I drank it. Second rating - 28/11/2014. From the brewerโs own stand at the Good Food Show, Birmingham NEC. RB score 9/3/9/5/18. Yes! A winner! Melon, mango and all things tropical up front in abindant quantities with some pine coming along in the aftertaste. Very, very smooth - a cuddly kind of mouthfeel. THis is fantastic. More please,, Mr Purity. Thankyou very much. Yes, itโs still fabulous. Marvellous ! Yes! YES! YEEESSS! Overall rating is the average of all ratings.

Taste of grapefruit, touch of orange, pithy grapefruit, slight sweet cake sponge mix, soft sweet fruity pale malts, nice oily citrus
Palate - Medium body, quite oily, sweet citrus. Finish - good grapefruit pith in finish, smooth sweet citrus, soft bitter zest hop linger
Overall - One of the best beers of the festival for me

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Golden amber with a loose cream head; aroma of pineapple and grapefruit; soft, soapy texture, with some tropical fruit flavours, and ahoney sweetness; then a lasting, pleasant, woody, bitterness. Really good.
