After 21 months in red wine barrels, this funky pale was refermented on redcurrants. This beer is one of three fruit expressions that share the same base beer.

Best paired with a meditation on the travails of the farm workers that hand harvest these delicate fruits.

Bottle. CW online. Hazed blush pink. Slim ring of white. Nose has fruity red wine. Blackcurrant. Redcurrant, probably. Not overly familiar but there’s an earthy vibe here, not unlike elderberry. Touch of brett. Taste has a nice bittersweet character. Juicy tang on it. Easy drinking with fine carbonation. Light pucker. Tart and juicy finish. Nice one.

Bottle at home from CW online. Pours deep orange gold with a pink tint and a thin off white head. Aroma is redcurrant, funk, white grape, oak, loads of wine barrel. Taste is sharpness of redcurrant, funk mellows out the sharp redcurrant leading to grape and the dry oak barrel drying out the finish. Good stuff.
