Grunn Strong Bock is een zware Bock. Deze mooie Bock met hoge gisting is gebrouwen uit water, edele hop en geroosterde moutsoorten. Hij is zeer vol van smaak met een fluwelen afdronk.

Clear deep ruby brown colour, large frothy beige head, dissipating slowly, fair lacing. Aroma roasted malts, raisins, dates, figs, caramel, brown sugar, liquorice. Taste light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, roasted malts, toffee, alcohol, spicy notes, with average to long duration, sweetbitter aftertaste, spicy notes and alcohol warmth. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, average carbonation, heavy duty double bock not body-wise but because of the alcohol which gives the beer a fortified wine feel.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, raisins and caramel. Strong bitter taste with some alcohol warmth. Not very full bodied for such a high ABV beer.

caramelbruin met schuimige witte, licht bruine kraag aroma: caramel, rozijnen, anijs smaken: redelijk zoet, matig moutig, anijs, caramel, gebrande en geroosterde mouten, kandijsuiker, licht zuurtje, zachte smaken, donkere fruiten, redelijk op elkaar afgestemd, voor een strong bock met 9.8% heeft hij een iets te dunne/lichte body, had met een vollere body wat beter geweest. maar ’t is zeker geen slechte bok, geen overdreven(extreme) moutigheid, alcohol is toch goed verborgen, valt mij niets tegen.afdronk caramel zoetigheid --- Beer merged from original tick of Strong Bock on 17 May 2018 at 15:56 - Score: 7

Hazy red - brown beer. Typical bock nose. Semi soft and semi dry palate. Strong aged tasting malt. A little chocolate and then some mild aniseed alcohol. Finishes dry with more chocolate and alcohol.

Bottle looks good, label a bit complex. Beer in the glass very dark, small head. Starts strong, roasty malty, quite alcoholic, fruity like raisins. Finish still strong, warming, still alcoholic, intense malty. Not bad at all!

bottle. Did I receive it from pivnizub or Bierkoning? To be honest, I can’t remember, it was in my box of Dutch goodies. Thank you very much to whoever sent it to me! Deep brown colour with a red glow, very large beige head. Sweet and malty nose with caramel. Very full-bodied, intensively malty, lots of caramel, dark honey and spices. Sweet, hardly bitter at all, shy herbal hoppy flavours are detectable hovering in the background. A lot of the carbonation seems to have gone into the enormous head, as there is hardly any carbonation in the beer. A delicious winter warmer.

Bottle: almost clear, ruby-amber coloured, stable mid-sized beige head; moderate sweet fruity nose (dried berries), lots of caramel, molecular traces of alcohol and a tinge of roasted malt in the nose; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, quite slim for a beer of 9.8%; a faint touch of alcohol is waving is waving through the sweet caramelly and light bitter finish. A bit on the sweet side, but not bad at all......
