This brown ale demonstrates a very showy color because of her reflections of sugar or coffee. In the glass, she is dense and exudes a noticeable style through her carbonation.

Bottle at home. Has a dark nutty brown colour with a light brown medium head. Has a malty aroma with lots of nuts and wood, roasted malt and coffee. Light flavour with much of the same but more faint but with some dark fruits and hops. Has a smooth mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. Nice aroma but a bit light flavour.

Medium beige head. Opaque black body. Roasty resiny papery aroma with chalky grainy notes. Dry sooty taste with faint fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, chalky mouthfeel. Dry roasty chocolatey aftertaste with mealy fruity resiny notes. Kind of simple and straightforward, but no real off flavours. (0.33l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

0.33l bottle. Yeah, it's a negra one. As good as black in the glass and it has a small quickly sidesticking bubbly light tan head. On the nose this reminds me of leather shoes - the once I use in weddings and Christmas tables. Also, some roastiness with lot's of dark malts and and a little coffee-dryness. it's quite average on the carbonation with a soft oily mouthfeel. Roasted and slightly burned "thin" flavors. It definitely tastes black. Some sweet type licorice and more leather also appears. Most likely psychological, but I also get a thin ink-like flavor. Really light drinkable actually. Yeah, I did not mind this one a bit. 12.10.2012

33cl bottle at El Estribo, Madrid. Pours very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark dried fruits, dark chocolate and some caramel. Sweet, with a quite dry finish with some bitterness. Reminds me of a dry porter. Dark and delicious.

33cl bottle at La Casa de la cerveza. Black colour with a good formation of a tan head, perfect lasting. Aroma has toasted malts notes, and dry fruits are present. Flavour is toasty, slightly sweet and a final slightly bittery with also dry fruits present. Good balance. Carbonation and body is medium. Texture is slightly oily.

Bottle thanks to the ever generous Fin and Loz. Very dark brown with thickish dark beige head. Toasty malt aroma. Smoothish and decent choc flavour in the mouth. Some dryness on the finish. Decent brown ale to be honest. I mean it’s ok, some decent malts. And it’s a brown ale. Does what it says on the tin.

Bottle from Carrefour, Bilbao, The Basque Country, Northern Spain. Consumed at Neals Place campsite, Canterbury, Kent. Very dark conker colour, fast disappearing tan head. Toffee, yet a touch metallic, chewy, sweet and malty, little dry. Soft in mouth. Not bad. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov12 3.2

bottle hunted down while on vacation to mallorca. (found it in carrefour, palma city). dark brown, not clear, or perhaps just too dark to be clear. smooth light brown head, that soon grows smaller. nice 3. aroma is quite roasted, like a porter, not like a brown ale. also some toffee, and some caramel, hopping is moderate.but definetly there. flavor is lots of roasted grains, grassy notes from the hops, faint licorice. soe dark caramel. flavor also reminds me more of a not that strong porter, than of a brown ale. . ends caramelly. palate is a bit watery.
