Bottle, at Patrick's. A jet black beer with a finger thick tan head. Lightly alcoholic aroma, with lots of roasted malts and coffee. Dried fruits, some coconut, booze and a faint chocolate note. It's full bodied, warming and super smooth on the palate. Perhaps s bit too warm, but it's a strong and rich beer so no problem. Roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, some dried fruits and licorice and booze too. All lasting for eternity. A very nice beer indeed. Dessert. 171001

Tap at Salon piva. Loads and loads of chocolate, cocoa. Quite intense, centered around the full malty experience. Light alcohol warmth coming through, I could do without it, but it adds depth to the beer. Very good.

Bottle at L42, big thanks to Leighton. It pours jet black with a decent tan head. The aroma is pretty rich and intense, rich roast, quite savoury, dark chocolate and liquorice. The taste holds some bitterness upfront, rich roasted malt, a rather pleasant dark chocolate torte vibe throughout, umami and liquorice with just a touch of alcohol warmth on the finish. Medium - full body and fine carbonation. Well balanced and quaffable.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours rich brown with a small, creamy khaki head. The nose holds dry roast, cocoa, burnt wood, raisins. Medium sweet flavour with some bitter coffee, chocolate, moderate ashy roast, scorched earth, old leathery berries. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish with notes of baking cocoa, more earth, raisins, leather. Solid overall.
