Ale fermented in oak

Refermented on grapes from Red Willow Vineyards Yakima Valley, Washington

This 2018 harvest beer was made using Riesling grapes from vines planted in 1982 at Red Willow Vineyards at the Eastern Foothills of the Cascade Mountains. The grapes were allowed to cold soak overnight and then gently direct pressed, transferred to a tank, and refermented with a blend of aged saisons. The beer was then allowed to rest sur lie for some time before being blended with young saison and packaged. This beer was refermented in the bottle and will continue to develop over time.

Thanks to Mike Sauer, Jonathan Sauer, and everyone at Red Willow who grow such special fruit.

2019 bottle. Pours a hazy yellow with small white head. The aroma is grape skin, oak, funk, barnyard. Slick body, grape, funk, oak, light tartness, dry finish, vinous, enjoyed this.

Bottle. Cleear golden color, oily, with a low head. Fresh nose of riesling grapes, lactic acid creaminess. Sweet, fruity grapes, then funk and some tartness, light wood, rather tame finish. Tasty.
