Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is hops, grass, fruits with some mild nectary and dry wooden notes. Flavour is very much the same in a good balance. Easy to drink and hides the alcohol totally.

Bottled at RBESG. Hazy nut brown, small head. Grapefruity nose. Sweet and full flavoured. Bold caramelly malt dipped in hop sauce with graepfruit and salmiak. Medium to full bodied. Bitter salty licorice finish. Interesting in that I’ve never tasted as much salmiak in an IPA.

Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Amber colour. Thin off white head. Diacetyl and not enough hop. Toffee, astringent hop on finish. Hops are strong, but just not my style. Toffee, butter throughout puts me off. Hops on end are hot rather than flavourful. Just too much toffee. Will re-rate. 3.2/5.0 Re-rate RBESG08 grand tasting. Hazy russet Double IPA aroma of sweet toffee and grapefruit hop. Doesn’t jump out at me, got all the elements, but no great character.

2010-06-28, draught at Cockney Pub, Århus, 7-4-8-4-15=38
Fresh new keg.
Cloudy dark amber color; medium sized creamy head. Nice aroma, hoppy and fruity, with hints of chocolate. Good body strength; it has strong caramel flavor, some toffee and light chocolate too; very light fruit touch, but strong bitterness; it actually is more solid than fresh. The final is bold, long, but without excitement, and so this beer overall.

The presence of good hops is confirmed: very nice aroma. But less sweet than I remembered; and the final is not showing enough hop qualities, mostly bitterness.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. It has a very nice aroma of American hops (it’s brewed with Centennial, Chinook and Cascade). It has good body strength, powerful caramel flavor and toffee, with enough sweetness, then the oily extreme hopping; there is a light astringency, probably because the bottle was shaken. Very long and strong final. Very good.

Beautiful hazy amber color; creamy head. It has an excellent aroma of creamy hops and caramel. The flavor is basically toffee, with strong bitterness (and some nice hop oils), a touch of liquorice (unpleasant) and traces of yeast (unexpected). Good for the hops, the rest should be reconsidered.

Nice beer overall, but somehow the alc. and hoppiness combines and becomes a taste i don’t like.. sort of burned old chilli-caramel like. Apart from this disturbing nuance, it’s a good beer. The same weird taste was found in their imp. stout, i wonder what it is.

Bottle. Pours an amber color with a small off-white head. Malty and very hoppy aroma with hints of citrus. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with piny hints and hints of citrus. Dry bitter hoppy finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich with hops, but not as much as I had hoped for being a double IPA. Nice bitter finish.
