Balageru is hard to find, but it's still out there. It's marketed to locals more than tourists, so you're more likely to find it in some sort of downmarket establishment. Your Balageru experience kicks off with a grainy-cider notes. On the palate, it's really grainy, sweetish, but otherwise clean. Decent pale lager but certainly not the best in Ethiopia.

Clear, yellow-golden colored, medium white head. Aroma is malt, adjunct, cereal, bit grainy, DMS. Taste is medium sweet malt, cereal, some grain, DMS, light herbal bitterness. Medium- bodied, soft+ carbonation. This one is brewed with about 100% barley, not malt. (bottle, Debre Birhan, Ethiopia)
