This amber ale is a tribute to family history. It was brewed using fermented date syrup, a staple ingredient in our brewer’s grandmother’s kitchen. Honey, raisin and plum notes shine with a brandy-like finish that lingers on the palate.

On tap at Steel & Oak, pours a cloudy dark amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of sweet dates and bready malt. Flavour is sweet and malty, with lots of dates, bready malt, and caramel. Fruity and malty. Good stuff.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy amber colour with compact head. Nice malt base, sweet bread, and something that easily be pegged as dates paste.
Good.

Very nice copper brown body, modest foam, strong caramel malt that has date components but I'm not sure if I would notice if I didn't know they were there. Flavour is very bright chewy malt, dates probably there, and a full sweet finish. Nice dry mouthfeel, a little sweetness lingers. The dates blend well here, it's enjoyable.
