On tap at tugboat Portland. Pours out black topped with a small head. Nose is roast malts some odd chemical notes maybe some sort of nuclear waste. Taste is roast malts chocolate and as bad as the nose.

On tap at Tugboat. Black with a small head. Aroma and taste of licorice, chocolate and some warming alcohol. Drinkable but a bit chemical.

Bottle at Deans impromptu Monday night tasting. Poured a clear dark brown with a bubbly light tan head. The aroma is light yeast, alcohol. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a big alcohol liqourice palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Like many high ABV beers the alcohol tends to dominate. Nice but not "that" nice.

50cl bottle via a trade. (tap pour bottled) No carbonation or head (to be expected). Clear black pour. Nice enough. lots of chocolate.

On tap at Tugboat
Black with a big dark tan head and good lacing. Aroma and flavors of roasted malts, chemicals and metallic goodness
Wow, we were leaving and the bartender saw we left 2 full pints of terrible beer on the bar so he says "try this, it’s my favorite" and puts a sample of this on the bar. What’s a ticker to do!

On tap at Tugboat, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of feet, sweat socks, rotting burnt wood - disgusting. Flavour is very metallic and offensive, with sweat socks, dirty feet, turpentine - this is just revolting - what the hell are they thinking? Extremely offensive on the palate. Not alcoholic, which is a feat for it being 13+%, but the nasty flavours don't make that matter. Maybe they named this after nuclear radiation because this is completely deranged. Gross. 3-4 sips, then we left our glass and walked out of the tasting room.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is sour with oat and some coffee. Flavour is sour with coffee, roasted malt and hints of chocolate. Hides the ABV very well. Too sour, feels contaminated.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a pure black color with no head. The aroma is big caramel and something akin to licorice. The flavor is odd; sweet honey and earthiness, caramel, a very light bit of roast, oddly sweet and mellow, more licorice. Very smooth and warm. Not very good, but OK.

Tap at the brewery - sadly, the only interesting beer on tap at the time a dark brown pour - aroma of ash, dough, tobacco, dark fruit, chocolate - flavor is ashy, bitter, abrasive - a bit of charred malt and smoke - some blueberry - strong alcohol burn - strong ashy character - pretty fucking lame - boy, am I sorry I came in here.

Dark opaque brown color, good creamy head. Toasted, beany aroma. Medium-bodied. Toasted barley flavor, quite one-dimensional - no coffee, no chocolate, just roasted maltyness. Some light sweet notes. Drinkability is good, I don’t believe that this batch was actually 13 %. Weird.
