Today marks the release of our 5th collaboration with @brouwerij_boon, Cuvée Oude Henri.⠀

And my oh my, you are in for a special treat!!!⠀

This Oude Geuze consists of a blend of 1 and 3 year old lambic, that was aged on two special oak foeders which were originally used before by a French producer of a famous white bubbly wine. ⠀

We aren't allowed to mention its name, but you’ll definitely taste what we’re talking about 🥂⠀

We really treasure our yearly collaboration with Boon, because it allows us to push boundaries and play around with a very traditional beer style together with some of the most skilled lambic producers in the world. ⠀

Good dense, thick off-white head over finely & lively carbonated orangey golden beer. Sharp-ish horseblanket/saddlesoap aroma, wild yeasts galore, drenched wood, also some raisins. Grapey, less harsh than the nose, farmyard odours. Mals, almost suggesting sweet. Wood, but also grapes, winey if not really vinous, fruitsugars. Mild acidthinning, good carbonation. Magnificent.

Süffiger, trocken bitterer Beginn. Leicht pappig, feinwürzig, spritzig. DIe Säure steigt etwas an, erhöhte Karbonisierung, stimmig. Der papige Ton verschwindet, deutlich holzig, langer Abgang. 10/12/11/11/9/11

Bottle. Color: Clear golden, white head. Aroma: Moderate tart, fruity berries and some citrus, funky, old hop. Taste: Over moderate tart, light to moderate sweet and bitter, fruity notes of sweet and sour white berries, citrus, grapes. Bit vinuous mouthfeel. Oak wood, tannins, farmyard funk. Some upcoming bitterness, old hop and a little more white wine notes at the finish. Medium body, average carbonation, bit foamy. Quite a lot of carbonation for this style. Ok but no winner for me in the category Oude Geuze.
