Black pour with no carbonation. There's elements in this of dark berries with a slight acidity and a certain bitterness like blackcurrants. Lots of woody dryness too. Subtle whisky warmth in the background. A tad thin and watery though for a big stout.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Roasted malt, mocha, coffee. Sweetish. Hnts of nuts. Taste: Roasted malt, caramel, some coffee / mocha, some nuts and some grape. Spicy and salty notes. Slightly sour., hints of citrus. Lightly boozy. Although I can't match Balvenie with salty notes, acoording to the internet, the term salty keeps coming in my mind. Just over medium body, below average carbonation. Bit creamy mouthfeel, Quite unusual barrel for barrel ageing. Personally I think it's missing some usual (for a Stout) roasted malt and I don't really like the 'salty' part of it. Overall ok though.
