At the mouth of the Camel Estuary in Rock, lies the treacherous Doom Bar sandbank, the inspiration for this moreish amber ale.

The sandbank is revered as a formidable nautical challenge that should be approached with respect and navigated with skill.

Butelka. Bursztynowe, klarowne z szybko opadającą, rachityczną pianą. Aromat karmelowo-chlebowy. W smaku najpierw chlebowo, z finiszem karmelowo-chmielowym, takim kojarzącym się z suchą trawą i sianem. Goryczka zaznaczona zauważalnie, ale nieprzyjemna. Nawet bittery są lepsze i gorsze. Ten jest gorszy.

Bottle at home (one of MANY). Doombar is a special beer for me, the beer of hours of conversation with my best buddies. It is supremely drinkable, very light caramel, watery (which helps it go the distance). In a bottle, it is different from cask, can be served very cold, looks beautiful and is way more refreshing. ---- Bottle from sonewhere at sisters. Was expecting to take it down a lot more than this. It was actually quite smooth and passable. 4.2 to 3.5.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - deep amber to red with a nice fluffy head. Nose - a whiff of butterscotch on opening. Confirmed on closer inspection. Light caramel and generally a lack of fruit or bitterness. Taste - more of the same. Caramel mostly. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a finish that could be fresher. Overall - much better on cask.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear dark amber color with medium creamy off-white head and soft visible carbonation. Aroma is dusty, grassy and grainy with toffee note. Taste starts light sweet and sour grainy and citric, follows by toasted malt, toffee and mild honey, while finish is mild bitter. Medium body, slick texture and soft carbonation in palate. Starts with a weak aroma, but luckily turns into a quaffable bitter...

500ml bottle. Deep copper colour. Plenty of toasted nuts and a little caramel, with a subdued bitterness to finish. Very easy drinking and perfectly pleasant, though nothing compared to the cask version.
