Named after the first son of the brewer back in 1993, it was awarded the Gold medal for Robust Porter category in 2008 in America at the Great American Beer Festival. If you like dark, rich, and very complex beers, go no further than this offering.

On draft at the brewery in Tucson. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aromas are of tobacco and leather. Flavors are bittersweet cocoa.

Draft. Blackish beer with a tan head. Light malt and light roast aroma. Malt and light caramel flavor with light roast. Medium bodied. Caramel and light roast linger.

Pours a reddish brown appearance with a tan head. Caramel, dark chocolate, slightly spicy aroma. Cardboard, dull hops, light pine, caramel, burnt sugar flavor. Ehhh, ok.

on tap-pours a disappearing light brown head and black color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty, then burnt/coffee. Taste is dark malt-roasty, then burnt/coffee/molasses, secondary earthy hops. Not my style.

on tap as part of the sampler pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma and flavor are roast and bitter cocoa with a sweet lactose finish.

Appearance: Pours dark mahogany with a small beige head and some lacing
Aroma: Roasted malts, chocolate and coffee
Taste: Roasty, dried cocoa and coffee
Nice and easy to drink.

From a growler at the AS BA Release, thanks to Craig, cbkschubert! Nose of coffe, chcolate and light flowery hops; Black with clear brown edges and a medium cinnamon tan head (I got to pop the growler and have the first glass); Falvor had a nice amount of light hop bitterness mixed with coffee and chocolate; finish is lightly bitter cocoa.
