Mastri Birrai Umbri’s unfiltered red ale is made in Italy according to the Cotta 37 recipe using the traditional top-fermentation technique. The use of roasted malts and chicklings results in its characteristic deep, naturally cloudy copper hue. The ale’s captivating aroma is dominated by mineral and caramelized notes. Its body is smooth and its flavour balanced.

Light amber. Hazy. The aroma is yeasty and messy, On the palate, thin and yeasty. Maybe just a hollowed out malt. See, the issue is that peas and fructose probably ferment out, and that’s why there isn’t much body or character. You can’t just drop those types of fermentables into a beer without having a plan, or you’ll end up with something that goes nowhere.

Bjödöl, inköpt i Rom. Stilig flaska. Stilmässigt någonstans åt engelsk pale ale. Ganska mycket jästkaraktär, bröd, säd. Mjuk munkänsla, renasmaker men väl mycket jäst. Lätt gräsig humle. Ok.

23-02-17 // 500ml bottle in Trapani. Pours a murky orange amber beer, small white head. Pretty flat light malty taste, high carbonation. Not really a spice/herb taste.

From a 500ml bottle on 13/9/2016. Pours a weird pink orange with no head. Has the faintest aroma of fruit and lollies. In the mouth, you get some very muted sweet fruit and more lollies, and bugger all else. The body is thin and watery with average carbonation. Was described to me in the restaurant as Italian craft beer. The bottle was nice but the beer itself was shite.

Murky orange colour, low head dissipates quickly. Strong aroma of caramel and slight estery fruitiness. (orange). In the taste, dominant and cloyingly sweet caramel; not much else, maybe a slight fruitiness. Alcohol is clearly detectable despite low abv. Finish is a bit musty. Light body, carbonation is too low, flat. This is bad

Frischer, etwas karamelliger Malzantrunk. Kurz darauf nimmt das Malzaroma ab, hefig-bananig trockene Noten. Etwas getreidig, mild würzig. Steigend hefiger Nachhall. Nett. 9/7/10/9/11/9
