Handbottle from Tejas. You know who. Pours dark brown/black but halogen reveals ruby in the thin parts of the glass. The head is really foamy tan. The aroma is strongly coffee. It’s a smooth coffee - not harsh espresso. Medium plus body with foamy carbonation. I think there’s smooth burnt malt in the background, but the coffee is just all over it. But, again, a smooth, almost silky coffee - not harsh. Call this the Starbucks of coffee porters. Covey certainly does not skimp on ingredients. But then all the money is in Texas.

thanks to Fratto and Cavie for sending this to the Tally tasting! Pours dark brown to black with a medium tan head. Aroma is strong chocolate and coffee. Flavor is strong bitter espresso and bittersweet cocoa. This is rich and delicious.

Handbottle thanks to Cavie! Poured black with grayish brown head that was thick and dissipated to the edges with slight lace. Aroma was full of coffee with a nice roasted note present as well. Flavor is quite similar with more roast at the beginning and the coffee flavor grows and they meld well at the finish. A solid beer and different for a Baltic Porter, but a bit too much coffee for me to love.

Pour thanks to Jaime. Large tan head, good lace. Damn, what an aroma strong and complex coffee with creamer. Up there with a couple poop (kopi) coffee beers. Wake up coffee smells. Strong coffee taste, one sided but awesome. Creamy mouth. Great beer!
