This is our lightest beer which is a popular brew in Iowa. This malted wheat is carefully blended with the traditional malt barley and brewed with special hops to create a “Summer Fest” beer. Light and zesty in itself, this beer is best served in a tall glass with a slice of lemon.

12oz shorty bottle. Filtered thin orange-tan color. Mild non-aroma. Light malt sweetness, easy drinking. Pretty spot on, fresh and highly enjoyable. Definitely a US wheat beer, not going for German Hefe-duplication. Very nice minimal, but crisp, hop balance. An excellent beer.

Bottle courtesy of Degarth. Thanks! Pours a slightly hazy straw color. Pale wheat aroma. No bitterness to speak of. Slighly spicy bready taste. Moderately sweet. Very watery.

Courtesy of Degarth. Thanks, my first beer from Iowa!

Pours mildly hazy gold with weak white head. The light aroma has a dollop of sweet smelling malts, a wheatish tone, faint yeasty spice and noble hop spice. The taste begins with a bit of sharpness from the carbonation punctuated wheat twang followed by spice hops and mild malt sweetness. The sweetness builds up somewhat into the finish with lingering muted hops.

Bottle sample at a tasting. Golden, a bit hazy, with a white head. Aroma of some malt, a bit of yeast, a bit of wheat and hints of hops. Sweet flavor with a bit of sourness - some malt, yeasty notes and hints of fruits. Finish is a bit drier. Light-bodied. Quite refreshing, but nothing more.

This beer came in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy yellow-golden color with a trace of a white head. The aroma was bitter, citrusy and a touch wheaty. The flavor was bitter and tangy with light wheat and citrus undertones. Surprisingly dry.

Thin bodied and gold in color. Very light wheat aroma and mild wheat flavor. Far too light overall. A poor beer.

Brought to MrFacto’s ’Tosa tasting by 1FastSTi. Pisswater clear golden body, thin off-white head. Adjuncty, tangy, soapy aroma. Sweet, honey-like flavor with light fruit, biscuit, and adjuncts; very light and quite uninteresting overall. A bit buttery. Thin.

Acquired via trade. Pours a clear golden orange color with a miniscule white head that was gone in no time. No lacing. The aroma is lightly wheaty with a glimmer of hops. Light-bodied and crisp, with a subdued yeast, spice and wheat flavor. Very little aftertaste aside from a touch of wheat and malt. Not big in the flavor department, but fairly drinkable overall.

12 oz bottle, Oct. 10, ’08. Worth a revisit, now that I have the experience of a few more wheat beers behind me. Golden pour with a little haze, a very brief and fizzy head, then nothing. Light malt smell with a bit of bread yeast in the mix. Taste is okay, but lacks the fine effervescence of a wheat beer. Some grains, not very smooth. "Liquid bread" is right, I’m afraid. Notes of wheat malt not easy to distinguish. But it probably was better from the brewer’s tasting tap.
Original rating: Nov. 5, ’03. 6-4-7-4-15, total 3.6. Draft, at the brewery. Thinking back, I believe this was the first microbrew I ever had, way back in the 1980’s. Today’s pour was a nice-looking, heady sample, with very little haze and a nice fizzy wheat flavor. An easy, pleasing beer.
