Bottle from StarmoreBoss, Sheffield. Good looking, clear, copper colour. Clotted cream coloured head. Spicy jamminess. Some banana fustiness, that stays on the right side. Taste is dry and lightly spicy, as you’d expect, with a fairly punchy, pithy bitterness. Underlying sweetness. Lightly chewy palate. Long, bitter finish.

Backlog, had this in fall 2013. Copper clear, one finger thick head, some lacings. Smell is nice, with deep pine, hoppiness, citrus, hints of hay and old clothes. Taste is bitterly hoppy but not overly so. Some hints of spices, citrus and a lingering bitterness, finishes also quit dry. Medium body, average carbo. Kind of sticky texture. There is definitely a battle between the bitterness from the hops and the dryness and light spices from the rye. Works pretty good.
