Rye has been a staple grain for millennia—sought after for its stubborn resilience in the field and revered for its unique flavor. Ruthless Rye IPA is brewed with rustic grains for refined flavors, combining the peppery spice of rye and the bright citrusy flavors of whole-cone hops to create a complex ale for the tumultuous transition to spring.

Nicely done IPA with rye. Medium dark amber with thick fluffy off-white head. Just the right amount of bitterness, smooth palate, dry finish. This is a really good IPA.

Bottle, at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. An almost clear one, golden in color and with a small, light beige head. The aroma is fruity, with some pine cones and peaches, and a maltyness. A bit low on the bitterness in the flavor, a faint peppery note showing up. Fruity and lightly malty. Full bodied and with a pleasant carbonation. Lasting bitter finish. A nice one indeed, but I would like more rye impact and bitterness. 131019
