They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. While this hearty rye ale isn’t a Manhattan, it’s aged in fresh bourbon barrels with spices and fruit to give it that signature flavor. Close your eyes and you can almost taste the sweet vermouth, the bitters and the sour cherry.
We didn’t replicate the cocktail glass, but if you’re feeling fancy, feel free to drink this out of one.

A very dark brown beer, a head is very small and beige. Aroma has banana, apricot, dried fruits, spyciness, clove. Taste has banana, dried fruits, quite strong spicyness. Almost full bodied. Strong spyciness, nice.
Thanks Tom spicy rye, bourbon, nice oak notes. Decent.

Bottle (6/8/20) pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. Appearance is dark brown-mahogany (virtually opaque) with no discernible sparkle, finger-width beige head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is Manhattan/bourbon, caramel malt, hint of cherry. Taste follows aroma exactly. Mouthfeel is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation, nice alcohol warmth and finish as taste. Overall, Manhattan inspiration is unmistakable but still retains beer qualities. Nice.

Bottle from tfontana, thanks for the opportunity. Dark brown with ruby at the edges and a thin off white head that dissipates quickly. Sweet sticky maltiness with bits of brown sugar cherry and non de script spices.

Bottle from Hops and Bottles. Dark, ruddy brown pour, spritzy head. Boozy aroma, whiskey barrel. Taste brings prune and plum notes. Not too off from a quad in flavor. Thin, strong. Lingering whiskey.

Bottle thanks to Eric. Pours a dark brown red color with a small white head. A interesting nose of toffee, bready, vanilla. Big dry caramel, chocolate, vinous.
