Imperial Stout with Mackinac Fudge Coffee, Maple Syrup and Chocolate Aged in Oak Bourbon Barrels
Michigan didn’t invent old-fashioned fudge, but it was perfected here. We pay tribute to this time-honored tradition with KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge. By amplifying the rich chocolate notes of KBS using Mackinac Fudge coffee, then adding maple syrup and aging it in oak bourbon barrels, we’ve created a bold new take on our barrel-aged classic – one that could only have originated in Michigan.

OK, I'll add this under 2020 (not that there is any other issue (yet)). Pours pitch black with a brown head that leaves a small layer retention. Aroma's: big (milk) chocolate, cocoa powder, light roast. Retronasal it's chocolate, cocoa powder, fudge, some boozy bourbon, light roast. Flavour is moderate sweet, light roasted bitter, chocolate. Medium bodied. Long finish with chocolate, roast, increasing bitterness.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, hazelnut, oak and vanilla. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter with a long coffee, chocolate, hazelnut, vanilla and oak finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

pitch black color with dark brown head. Amazing nose of fudge bourbon, oak, vanilla and dark chocolate with a touch of roasted malt. Dry body with the fudge providing a touch of sweetness. Sweet fudge and dark chocolate palate followed by tons of bourbon, oak and vanilla. Very rounded, slightly warming. Super decadent. Lovely dessert beer.

De Katholieke Bijbel Stichting flikt ‘t gewoon weer. Black with tan head. Big roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, toffee, rich and dense, bourbon smooth edges. Very tasty. Maple lasts long in the finish. Fun for a change but not a keeper.
