Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown pour with smooth beige head, smokey roast aroma, taste is all subdued everything’s there sweet, chocolate, coffee a unexpected berry tartness, quite smooth mouthfeel. Not sure why there’s an RB downer on this. Sychronised tasting with the NateDawg BoozeBeatsBites --- Beer merged from original tick of Lacto Sweet Stout on 18 Jul 2013 at 19:03 - Score: 7.

Bottle at home. It pours near black with a small beige head. The nose is light roast, coffee, milk chocolate and Ovaltine. The taste is soft roasted malt, tangy, sour milk, milk chocolate and coffee with a dry, lactic finish. Light-medium body, fine carbonation and moderate sweetness. A bit odd really... Ok if you like sour milk I suppose....

0.33l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. This is a clear dark brown one with a quickly sidesticking brown head. On the aroma I get a soft sweetness, some clear chocolate, soft licorice and not extremely much more to be honest. In taste it's leather and licorice mainly that dominates. A bit of sweetness as well as a tad of milk chocolate. It's softly to average carbonated and it has a mild oily mouthfeel. It ends with a hint of roasted acidity. Interesting enough. 22.08.2012

330 mL bottle. Well, first of all, this pours an entire glass of (light tan) foam. That said, there are aromas of molasses, dark fruit, malted milk balls. Flavor similarly has molasses and dark fruit, cocoa, but also rather smoky. Good, but still a bit off (and the foam doesn’t help).

11.2 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a very dark brown color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, nuts, berry-like fruits. The taste is roasted malts, milk, berries, smoke, bitter hops. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation. Nice.
