Dark brown pour with a tan head that dissipates quite quickly. Notes of toffee, sweet dried fruit, roasted malt, rye whiskey, apple brandy. Quite nice for its ABV.

150ml draught at Agenturet Øl og Vinbar. Many thanks to Finn for the treat. Near-black body, clingy lacing from a beige ring to the rim of the surface. Appealing aromas of chocolate sherry. Powerful taste profile of sherry, liquorice, and chocolate malts. Smooth sherry chocolate ending, long-lived and warming on the swallow. Great slow sipper qualities. (Tromsø 03.11.2020).

On tap @ Bakgården. Mind blowing stuff, just med me forget to take notes the two first time I had this – just wanted to enjoy the moment. But tickers gotta tick so here I go for the third time. Pitch black body under a small, rather dense beige head lacing nicely when swirling the glass. Strong, almost intense aroma without feeling overwhelming, just very pleasant and inviting to keep on sniffing a long time before the first sip. Aroma has strong, mild roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, some coffee, dry fruit, balanced honey and pleasant alcohol. Taste is incredible smooth for such a high ABV beer, same ingrediencies as found in aroma, strong, smooth, sweet, mild roasted, dark malt, dark chocolate, hint of coffee, a general dry fruit flavor, delicate, sweet honey, a touch of red berries and balancing bitterness finishing up with a nice, warming alcohol touch. Body in perfect balance and almost everlasting aftertaste of sweet malt and elegant alcohol. Balance, balance and balance is the key word here, extremely delicate and complex, whatever part I try to isolate on my tasting palate it’s something extraordinary. The malt itself is amazing, the honey is super nice etc. No flavors feel superfluous, and everything feels honest and clean without any cheap tricks. But the most impressive thing for me is how can such a strong beer be so dangerous easy drinkable. Don’t really know what more to expect from a beer and don’t know why I just don’t go for the highest score possible. Perhaps that’s just the nature of using ratebeer, always leaving rom for something even more fantastic that might come one day.

Really dark brown with thin head. Aroma is woody and dry. Flavour is quite sweet but not overly so. Honey and wood. Elements of sherry and raisins. Some soft elements of dark chocolate too.
