Can split at the second High Tickombe Tasting, from HOTM online, 04/09/20. Hazed orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is citric zest, pine needle, grapefruit, toasted malts, bitter orange. Taste comprises orange pith, grapefruit, hint of weed, pine resin, grass, melon, ripe mango flesh. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with balanced dankish hop bitterness and a mellow boost. Decent enough DIPA with a good old skool lilt offered.

Can from HoTM. It pours hazy orange with a decent white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy and tangy, tropical action, passion fruit, tangerine, papaya, orange chewits, orange fruit jelly, jelly tots and some bready vibes. The taste is juicy and tangy, filled with tropical fruits and citrus, tangerine, passion fruit, mango, slap of booze, marmalade sandwiches, um bungo, five alive, fruit punch, touch of spice, wood and green undertones with a tangy orange fruit finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fun fruity gear.

Hazy deep copper and bronze coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan and off-white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of pine, resin, alcohol, astringent malts, dry grain and a light dose of citrus, but no real juiciness here at all. Medium to almost Full-bodied; Deep woodsy, earthy and grainy malts dominate with a fairly strong cedar, oak and floral bite and astringent and very medicinal kick from the hops that are very bitter, pungent and showing deep characteristics that aren't typical for the style. Aftertaste is deep, pungent, very drying, floral and super astringent with more wood and malt notes than anything resembling hops, for a New England IPA. Overall, decent enough as this has a lot of character and pungency, with some complexities, but is too strong overall for me (also in this larger format), plus isn't a New England IPA by any stretch of the style, so that was disappointing as well! Sadly, despite my usual enjoyment of the brewery (as most others as well), this is quite simply - not worth trying to find. I sampled this sixteen ounce can, purchased from Giant Food in Arlington (Columbia Pike), Virginia on 24-August-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington just four days later on 28-August-2020.
