Adulting ain’t easy. Neither is crafting a Dark/Stout rich in flavor with only 30 calories and 8 carbs – but here we are. And you’ll agree when you pair its smoky notes of medium roast coffee with a juicy, mouthwatering burger or even use it for an ice cream float.

TASTING NOTES
Our Dark/Stout looks and smells the part: like a whiff of fresh coffee beans with dark berry and plum notes, deep walnut brown highlights topped with a tall, tan cap of foam.

4 pack of cans from No Frills.
Dark brown pour, with a medium, rocky brown head. Aroma is light roast, some wet paper, minerals, slightest hint of cocoa powder. Mouth feel is thin, carb is lively. Finish is lightly bitter, very thin, not awful, but not great either. But pretty good for near beer.

Chocolate barley malt and hay aroma. Dark brown with moderate but short lasting tan head. Mildly sweet chocolate syrup, barley malt, and mildly bitter straw flavor. Light body. Not unpleasant but more like drinking watery chocolate milk.

Can at Ryan's
Dark brown colour. Dry, moderate roast, a bit weak, maybe some light cardboard, but it doesn't even taste much like an NA. Not bad.

Jet black with a decent beige head. Chocolaty and toasty. Thin and bitter roast. Not great.

Poured from 355mL can (from Whole Foods). Medium dark brown with minimal beige head. Grain and toast malt, pretty boring, but at least inoffensive.

355mL can, pours a dark amber brown with a tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, earthy grains and some cardboard. Flavour is watery, with gentle toasted malt, some earthiness, and graininess. Watery and useless, but inoffensive. It's a tick.

12 oz. Getting those style ticks...Aroma has notes of dark bread, oatmeal, coffee, vegetables. Pours very dark brown to black with a one finger beige head that falls quickly into a ring. Taste is lightly bittersweet with near dark beer flavors. Watery. Not all that good, but it’s better than I expected.

Pours with nice big foam but it thins out quickly. Has a good dark brown body. Aroma is kind of weak biscuit and sugar. Taste is much the same with vague molasses notes. Carbonation is good but you can also tell that something's missing. Selection is pretty thin for non-alcoholic stouts and this one isn't bad, but could definitely be better.

Can at home just upping my lowest style tick. Brown black pour. Nose is sour mud. Tastes of dirty water, char, bitter minerals. Watery palate. Very bitter. Tastes of sadness
