50 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a lacing off-white head. Aroma is bread and light note of roasted malt. Flavour follows this closely with a light roasted note and breadish malt flavour. Light acidic touch. Very mild and easy. Light spiced bitterness and more bread in the finish.

Clear dark brown pour that shows lots of ruby highlights under a moderately sized light tan head. Chocolate aroma with a touch of coffee. Smooth medium body, lightly sweet with a long chocolate finish. Very tasty.

Slightly cloudy brown body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet nutty aroma with some chocolate notes. Sweet chocolate and nutty flavor, dry finish. Medium body with moderately low carbonation.

Bottle. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Brown colour. Heavy maly light hoppy aroma. Light bitter caramellic flavor. Average light bitter fisnih. Oily palate. Boring brown ale without power.

Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Fluffy off-white head with excellent retention leaves slight lacing as slowly recedes. Roasted caramel aromas. Thin with sweet dark caramel from front to back.

Poured a deep, nearly opaque, brown with a thin slightly off white head. You can definitely tell from the look of it that this is a brown ale and not a porter or stout. Nice grainy, yeasty, malty aroma. Flavor is heavy biscuit, grain, malty and the end has a peaty, roasted flavor reminiscent of a scotch ale. Finish is lasting sugar and malt on the palate, but smooth and drinkable. I like Nogne0’s other offerings more, but this was very drinkable and would likely appeal to a wider range of palates.

Bottle at RBESG07 ... Red brown colour ... fruity malts little roast malt. Not best Nogne ive had or possibly my shot palate is to blame :-(

Bouteille 500ml, courtoisie de Hogtownharry. De couleur brune et voilée. Nez de malt rôti, moyen de caramel toffee, léger de noix et de chocolat noir avec des notes fumées (tabac), de houblon herbeux et de café. Moyenne-mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas et une texture légèrement crémeuse et aux notes aqueuses et huileuses. Moyen goût de crème (notes lactiques et de chocolat au lait) accompagné d’un léger goût fruité (notes de raisins et de figues, traces de cerises, de canneberges et de cassis) et de notes fumées (tabac) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût moyennement amer de malt assez rôti, moyen de chocolat noir et léger de caramel toffee peu sucré ainsi que des notes de pain grillé puis progressivement se rajoute un goût de café doux et un moyen goût de noix asséchante jusqu’en finale, ou l’on retrouve également un moyen goût de houblon herbeux et des traces d’alcool. Post-goût long et un peu sec, moyennement amer de rôti, de café, léger de chocolat noir et de houblon herbeux avec une légère aigreur fruitée (moût de raisins).

Purchased at Knightly Spirits in Orlando. Pours a brilliant clear brown-ish amber with tan head. First beer I’ve consumed or rated in the new Sam Adams glass ware. It works pretty good. The aroma is of roasted malts, nuttiness and vague hop like spice. The taste leans towards a Porter but without the malts being nearly as highly roasted or burnt. The malts are maybe medium roasted going along with nuttiness and some slight malt astringency. There is a trickle of sweet malt to caramel candy malt like undercurrent. Into the finish and the after taste the mild roastiness sticks around for a while.

1 pt. 9 oz. bottle purchased at Blue Max in Burnsville, MN. Pour is a clear reddish brown with a relatively small khaki head. Aroma is a muted chocolate malt. Taste is interesting, nice roast coffee highlights in the middle and end with a much sharper taste than I was expecting. Much thinner upon first pour, though body was much fuller as it warmed. Nothing special, though a nice example of a brown ale. Still love Nøgne Ø as a brewery.
